HAURANGI HUT, RIMUTAKA FOREST PARK

No bridge on Big Bend track at Haurangi Hut. Access available via the Orongorongo riverbed.

 ATIWHAKATU TRACK, TARARUA FOREST PARK

Upgrade work will be carried out between 1 April and 9 May 2008. Workers will handle tools and machinery. Proceed with caution.

Changes to other facilities and services Tararua Forest Park: Oriwa biv, Mt Dagg hut, Harris Creek hut and South Ohau hut have been removed. The woodburner at Cattle Ridge hut has been removed and won't be replaced.

Rimutaka Forest Park: Battery Stream bivvy is closed due to the need for major structural repairs until further notice.
