A popular hut on the Waingawa river and the best access point for climbing Mitre (1571m) the highest bump in the Tararuas.
Sleeps: 20 or so on bench bunks, but lots of floor and deck space probably nearly doubles it.
Heating: Potbelly.
Camping: Copious.
