Rock Climbing Exploration at Kaukau

So the best rock climbing in Wellington City itself(we're talking significantly worse than Pukerua Bay here) is hidden in the gorse scrub near Mt Kaukau, less than an hour walk from the bus hub in Khandallah. Punk Rock is a well established crag at this point, but there's other crags that have been developed in the past or could be developed, hidden deep in a place called Waterfall rock. There's access tracks but they can get quite overgrown.

So I'd like to bring the club's arsenal of climbing gear and track clearing gear and have an explore. Or we could just go sport climbing at Punk Rock. It's pretty open ended I just really love this place.

If you can, bring:

A decent sized backpack

Warm layer and windbreaker

Snacks and water

Sturdy shoes (and climbing shoes if you have them)
