Wandering along Tararua ridgelines in the middle of the night? Cookers not working? Sound familiar? This was VUWTC (or VUCTC as it was then, the Victoria University College Tramping Club) back in 1932... By Moonlight over the Pinnacles. One thing's changed though, we no longer cut our tent poles at the bushline!
With our 90th jubilee coming up this year I was just looking round for a bit of info on our early days - and found that most of NZ's major newspapers from 1839 until 1945 have been digitized and are available, searchable on the web.
